Opioids like morphine could make some chronic pain worse

An estimated one in five Australians suffer from some form of chronic pain.

Many use prescription medications, including opioids like morphine, to help get them through the day.

However a new study has revealed that using opioid painkillers to treat chronic nerve pain can actually make the pain worse, and last much longer.
