Lifestyle Medicine awards

Lifestyle Medicine spans clinical practice, community and state level initiatives, through to public health policy and ultimately, prevention. It is fully interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary; involving clinicians, public health professionals, researchers, scientists and educators working together to prevent, manage, and treat chronic and lifestyle-related conditions

Recent years have seen exponential growth in the recognition and impact of Lifestyle Medicine around the world. This, without question, is a direct result of our growing collective voice; spearheaded by a small group of passionate leaders in our community. We felt it important to recognise the enormous impact of these leaders, who have contributed to the field of Lifestyle Medicine is particularly influential ways. 

Outlined below are the Annual Awards for professionals, students, trainees and registrars presented annually at ASLM’s Lifestyle Medicine Conference.

Awards for professionals

Lifestyle Medicine #Changemaker Award

This award recognises significant and sustained effort resulting in positive change, for example, establishing creative models of care, improved practice processes, effective advocacy or innovative policy advancing the cause of Lifestyle Medicine.

Pioneers of Lifestyle Medicine Award

ASLM’s highest award recognises exceptional career and lifetime achievement in advancing the cause of Lifestyle Medicine.

Recipients of these awards are selected by the ASLM Board and take into consideration a broad-range of factors.

Awards for students, registrars and trainees

We acknowledge that today’s students and trainees are tomorrow’s leaders which is why ASLM is introducing three awards which are designed to recognised the invaluable impact students, registrars and trainees are having in their universities, institutions and workplaces.

Awardees will receive a complimentary registration to Lifestyle Medicine 2020, at which physical awards will be presented. Complimentary registrations will include a seat at the Conference Gala Dinner. 

All award nominations close Sunday March 29. 

Registrar/Trainee Leadership in Lifestyle Medicine award

This award is open to those who have completed their degree but are now in a training program, eg: as a registrar or first-year of employment and will recognise demonstrated leadership in registrars/trainees who have:

  • Established or are leading the development of initiatives in Lifestyle Medicine in their college or training program, or
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment in promoting and advocating for Lifestyle Medicine, or
  • Have through a significant project or effort made an impact in the professions, community or general public

Student Leadership in Lifestyle Medicine award

This award will recognise demonstrated leadership in current undergraduate or postgraduate (exempting PhD) students who have:

  • Established or are leading the development of a Lifestyle Medicine interest group in their university, or
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment in promoting and advocating for Lifestyle Medicine, or
  • Have through a significant project or effort made an impact in the professions, community or general public

Student Rising Star in Lifestyle Medicine award

This award will recognise outstanding leadership and impact potential in current undergraduate or postgraduate (exempting PhD) students who are starting out on their Lifestyle Medicine career.

  • Established or are leading the development of a Lifestyle Medicine interest group in their university, or
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment in promoting and advocating for Lifestyle Medicine, or
  • Have through a significant project or effort made an impact in the professions, community or general public
